One suggestion for all parents out there is to make sure that your children actually understand how to work a stove. Not just cook on it, but understand what "Clean" means on the dial. We had several instance of Scouts not having the stove on when they thought it was, not turning it off when they thought they did, setting one side for the wrong temperature, and in another case turning it to Cleaning mode but luckily that one was caught before it became a problem.
