The farm house was the Grimm farm, and it's considered the birthplace of winter hardy alfalfa.  While that might not seem like a big deal, it is now considered the birthplace of the Dairy Belt.  The alfalfa they raised is the source lf all modern varieties in the US and is grown on 25 million acres.
