Notes on Troop 33 Activities

Troop meetings begin at 7:00 sharp, and end at 8:30. Most are at the church, but watch for swim nights, gym nights, service projects, etc. at different locations. Your Scout will sometimes receive a handout the meeting before. We will email it to you if we have your email address. (Please make sure all of your family's contact info is up to date on Troopwebhost)

We have a board of review generally on the Monday before a Court of Honor, which are scheduled twice a year. Scouts passing Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, etc. must go before this board. They should have all of the requirements for the rank signed off in their book (except Scout spirit and Scoutmaster conference), and they should be in as full a uniform as possible (as they should be for every meeting).

Special events: The Waligazhu is a Scout skills contest covering first aid, lashing, knots and map and compass skills. Troops from all across the District are invited to this fast paced competition. It is usually held in late March, check the calendar for details.

Court of Honor and Family Dinner: This is a family night. Scout badges are awarded to Scouts at the court of honor. All Troop 33 families should try to attend. We try to arrive by 6:15 pm. There is one in June and one in January.

Troop Committee Meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of each month at the church. Some months the meetings are rescheduled so please call the current Committee Chair in advance to check on the current schedule. All parents are welcome to participate in these meetings.

Overnights are the most important and most fun parts of Scouting! All Scouts should go on as many of these trips as they can.
